I purchased this item as an educational aid for gifted middle school architecture class I was teaching over the summer, and it was a huge hit. The product is fairly simple - two hundred blocks of the same weight and size with a very basic activity book with ideas for buildings, daily items, vehicle models, etc. There is not a lot to it, but that is the beauty of the product. Kids can make whatever they want using their imaginations. I had sixteen students between the ages of 10 and 12, and they asked if we could use them each day. We made classical, neoclassical, modern, and even postmodern (with a bit of tin foil added to imitate Frank Gehry-esque features) structures, along with cantilever bridges and a number of unique pieces. Even distributed among groups, these 200 blocks could make a lot of different ideas come to life, while also illustrating the basic physics of architecture and engineering. Gravity and the friction between the blocks is the only thing keeping the structures together, and that is a fantastic lesson in itself for those willing to learn. The carefully crafted pieces (they relate to each other according to the ratio of 1 width:3 height and 1 length:5 width) make it all the easier to get creative with your work.
